A tip is given as a percentage of the bill. From the bill, the tip percentage and the number of people this calculator shows three figures: the tip, the total with tip, and the share per person when you split the bill. So in a restaurant, a cafe or with a delivery it is quickly clear how much you give and who pays what.
The calculation runs entirely locally in your browser, in pure JavaScript - nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. The tip is the bill times the percentage, the total is the sum of both, and the share per person is the total divided by the number of people (at least one). Change an input and all three values update instantly.
An honest note: tipping is voluntary, and what is customary depends on the country and the occasion - in some countries 10 percent is normal, in others more or nothing at all. The calculator splits the total evenly across everyone; uneven shares you work out by hand. The amounts are shown in euros as an example; the maths applies to any currency.

Limitations: Tip as a percentage of the bill, split evenly across the people (at least one). What counts as a customary tip depends on the country and occasion and is not prescribed. Uneven shares are not modelled. Amounts are in euros as an example - the maths applies to any currency.

It depends on the country and occasion - in many countries around 10 percent is customary, in others more or nothing. You enter the percentage yourself.
The calculator uses the bill amount you enter, as it appears on the bill (usually gross).
The calculator splits evenly. Uneven shares you work out by hand from the total.
