For a profile picture, a thumbnail or a uniform grid an image often needs a fixed aspect ratio. This tool provides a real editor for that: you drag the crop area freely with mouse or finger and see the result live.

Drag the frame at any of its eight handles right on the image to reshape the crop freely, or lock it to a fixed ratio (square 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9 wide or 2:3 portrait). You can also zoom the image and rotate it in 90-degree steps - all with a live preview.

Everything happens locally in the browser on a canvas - nothing is uploaded. The format is preserved. With several dropped images a filmstrip shows all thumbnails; the chosen crop can be applied to every image or adjusted individually for each.

The combination of free dragging and an optional ratio lock covers both cases: for social networks, profile pictures or product galleries, one specific ratio like 1:1 or 16:9 is often enough - that is what the presets are for. If instead you want a very specific crop or need to trim off a distracting edge, you simply drag the frame freely to where you want it.

      FAQ

      Are the images uploaded?

No, cropping happens entirely locally in the browser.

Can I move the crop area freely?

Yes, you can drag and resize the frame freely - optionally locked to a fixed aspect ratio.

      Does it distort the image?

No, it is only cropped, not stretched.

      Several images at once?

Yes, you can apply the same crop to every dropped image, or adjust each one individually in the filmstrip (ZIP download).

How do I rotate an image?

Right in the editor via the rotate buttons (90-degree steps) - or with the standalone "Rotate image" tool if you only want to rotate without cropping.
