A circle crop keeps a circular area of your image and makes everything outside it transparent - the shape used for profile pictures and avatars almost everywhere. This tool provides a real editor for that: the circle appears right on your image, and you move it freely with mouse or finger and drag its handles to make it larger or smaller - all with a live preview.

That way you frame exactly the part you want inside the circle - a face centred in the avatar, say - instead of just taking the middle of the image. The output is cropped to the circle: the result is a square PNG the size of the chosen circle, with the circle centred in it and transparent corners. Make the circle smaller and the exported image gets smaller too.

Because the corners must be transparent, the result is always saved as a PNG (which supports transparency) regardless of the input format - a circle on a JPEG, which has no transparency, would otherwise show square corner boxes. Everything runs entirely locally in your browser on a canvas (no upload, even offline) - your image never leaves your device. With several dropped images a filmstrip shows all thumbnails; the same circle setting can be applied to all of them or adjusted individually for each. Animated images are flattened to a single frame.

      In 3 steps

      1. Drop or tap your image (PNG, JPEG or WebP).
      2. Move the circle and resize it at its handles.
      3. Download the round PNG (several at once as a ZIP).

Limitations: The circle is freely movable and resizable; everything outside it becomes fully transparent. The output is always a square PNG (so the transparency is kept) at the size of the chosen circle, with the circle centred in it. The circle always stays fully inside the image. Several files yield a ZIP download. Animated inputs are reduced to a single frame.

      FAQ

      Is my image uploaded?

No. The crop runs entirely locally in the browser on a canvas - even offline. Your image never leaves your device.

Can I move and resize the circle?

Yes. Drag the circle with mouse or finger to where you want it and resize it at its handles - with a live preview. That gets you exactly the part you want inside the circle.

Why is the output a PNG?

The corners outside the circle must be transparent. JPEG cannot store transparency, so the result is always a PNG, which keeps the corners see-through.

Is it good for an avatar?

Yes. A circle-cropped image is the standard avatar/profile-picture shape, with transparent corners that sit cleanly on any background. Because you place the circle freely, the subject sits exactly centred.
