A border puts a clean margin around your image, like a mat around a print or the white frame of an instant photo. This tool adds an even white border on all four sides; its width is chosen automatically from the image (about a twentieth of the shorter side) so it looks balanced on small thumbnails and large photos alike. The original image sits untouched inside the frame.

A simple frame helps a photo stand out on a coloured background, gives a set of images a consistent look, or adds breathing room before placing text around the picture. Because the border is added around the image, the output is slightly larger than the input by twice the border width on each axis. Your original format is kept - a PNG stays a PNG, a JPEG stays a JPEG.

Everything runs entirely locally in your browser on a canvas (no upload, even offline) - your image never leaves your device. The frame is a solid white margin; for a coloured frame, place the result on a coloured background in your layout. Animated images are flattened to a single frame.

      In 3 steps

      1. Drop or tap your image (PNG, JPEG or WebP).
      2. A white border sized to the image is drawn around it on a canvas.
      3. Download the framed image (several at once as a ZIP).

Limitations: Adds an even white border on all four sides; the width is derived automatically from the image (about a twentieth of the shorter side). The output is larger than the input by twice the border width on each axis. The original format is preserved (a JPEG keeps the white border as solid white; a PNG keeps its transparency inside the frame). Animated inputs are reduced to a single frame.

      FAQ

      Is my image uploaded?

No. The framing runs entirely locally in the browser on a canvas - even offline. Your image never leaves your device.

      What colour is the border?

White. For a coloured frame, place the white-framed result on a coloured background in your layout.

      How thick is the border?

It is sized automatically from the image (about a twentieth of the shorter side), so it looks balanced on any image size.

      Does the image get bigger?

Yes. The border is added around the image, so the output grows by twice the border width on each axis; the original pixels are unchanged inside.
