Daily number puzzle

Guess the equation of the day in 6 tries - the same puzzle for everyone, entirely local in your browser. Your streak and stats stay on your device.

In 3 steps

  1. Type a complete 8-character equation (keyboard or on-page keys) and check it.
  2. Read the colors: green is placed, yellow is misplaced, grey does not occur - and derive your next guess.
  3. Solve in at most 6 tries, copy the emoji grid and come back tomorrow for the next puzzle.

Every day hides one 8-character equation - digits, plus, minus, times, divide and exactly one equals sign, for example following the pattern 98+2=100. You get 6 tries, and every guess must itself be a true equation. After each guess the cells change color: green means right character in the right spot, yellow means right character in the wrong spot, grey means not in the equation. Because the puzzle is made only of numbers and operators, it is the same game in every language.

The special part: the puzzle of the day comes from no server. Your browser derives it deterministically from your local calendar date - every player worldwide gets the same puzzle on the same calendar day, and at midnight your local time the next one appears. That even works offline and fits the gottrix guarantee: there is no request that could reveal when or how often you play.

After solving you can copy your result as an emoji grid and share it anywhere - it shows only your color trail, never the solution, and needs no words in any language. Your daily streak, puzzles played and best result are stored locally by your browser, with a visible export and delete button. There is no account and no server leaderboard - your streak belongs to you.

Limitations: One puzzle per calendar day (your local time), no archive puzzles to catch up on. Streak and statistics apply per browser and device - deliberately no account and no cross-device sync. And honestly: looking up the answer in the page code only spoils yourself.

FAQ

Does everyone really get the same puzzle?

Yes. The puzzle is derived deterministically from the calendar date - the same formula runs in every browser and produces the same result on the same day. There is no server distributing it: your device computes it itself, even offline. At midnight your local time it switches to the next one.

Are my results or my streak uploaded?

No. Your guesses, streak and statistics are stored exclusively by your browser, locally - with a visible export and delete button so your data genuinely belongs to you. Sharing stays in your hands too: the copy button only puts the emoji grid on your clipboard, nothing is sent anywhere.

Which equations count as a valid guess?

Exactly 8 characters from digits and + - * / with exactly one equals sign, and only the result on its right. The equation must be true, multiplication and division bind first (1+1*9=10), and numbers must not start with 0. Invalid guesses cost you nothing - they are simply rejected.

How does the color feedback handle duplicate characters?

Like the famous word-game original: first, all exact hits are marked green. After that, a character only receives yellow as many times as it still remains in the solution - a third 2 stays grey when the solution contains only two of them.

Can I catch up on missed days?

No, and that is deliberate: there is exactly one puzzle per day, the same for everyone - that is what makes it fun to share. A missed day ends your streak; your longest streak stays recorded though.
