The tool extracts the source archive locally via libarchive (WebAssembly) and then repacks the contained files into a fresh ZIP using fflate, the same reliable ZIP library the site's other ZIP tools use. The original's folder structure is preserved. Everything runs locally in the browser, offline too.
Handy when you want to hand a 7z mod package, a Windows CAB or a Linux .tar.gz to someone without the matching program installed - as a ZIP, everyone can open it. Encrypted 7z archives cannot be extracted by this tool, because the content is not readable without the password.
