Your browser cannot show a live preview for this format (e.g. MKV). The tool still works - enter the times below in seconds.
Export always re-encodes this video, which is what makes the cut frame-accurate - unlike the faster sibling tool "Trim video", which stays lossless but snaps the start to the nearest keyframe.
No processing of your file contents takes place on any server. You need no data-processing agreement with gottrix to handle confidential or business documents.

Trimming a video, removing its audio and changing the format - normally three separate tools, one after another. The video editor instead opens a full-screen workspace: a top bar with target format and export button, the video preview in the middle, a draggable trim timeline underneath and an audio choice. Every change runs in ONE pass through your browser's native WebCodecs engine, not as a chain of several re-encodes.
Important distinction from the sibling tool "Trim video": that fast tool cuts losslessly but snaps the start to the nearest keyframe. This editor re-encodes on export and therefore cuts frame-accurately at the exact second you chose - honestly paid for with a bit more processing time than a pure stream copy. For a quick, no-re-encode cut, use "Trim video"; for a whole editing session with audio and format in one pass, use this editor.
Everything runs locally in the browser with mediabunny (MPL-2.0, self-hosted, no third-party CDN) on the browser's native WebCodecs API. Your video is not uploaded - after the first load the editor even works offline.
Online video editors as many people know them usually put a watermark-free export behind a subscription, cap the video length on the free tier, or upload your recording to a server as a first step. This editor has none of that: export without a watermark, without a time limit and without an account, because the whole edit runs locally in the browser - on any device with a current, WebCodecs-capable browser.

In 3 steps
Drop your video file - the editor opens in full screen with a live preview.
Drag the start and end on the timeline, choose the audio (original/mute) and target format (MP4/WebM).
Click Export and download the edited video.
Limitations: Export always re-encodes (frame-accurate cut instead of a keyframe snap) - for a purely lossless cut without re-encoding, use the faster sibling tool "Trim video". Audio is original or fully muted only, no mixing several tracks and no background music yet (planned for a later version). Target format is MP4 or WebM only. One file per session, ~1 GB limit (4 GB/tab in the browser). Needs a secure context (https) and browser WebCodecs support.
FAQ
Is my video uploaded?
No. The whole editor runs locally in your browser - even in airplane mode.
What is the difference from "Trim video"?
"Trim video" is lossless but snaps the start to the nearest keyframe. This editor re-encodes and therefore cuts frame-accurately, and can also adjust audio and format in one pass.
Does the video lose quality?
Export re-encodes, which causes a small, usual amount of quality loss at unchanged resolution. If the start stays at 0 seconds and the codec fits the target format, the tool copies picture and sound losslessly where possible.
Can I add background music?
Not yet - that is planned for a later version. Right now audio can only be set to original or mute.
Why only MP4 and WebM as targets?
Those are the two formats your browser's WebCodecs re-encoding can write directly. For MOV or MKV, use the sibling tool "Convert video".
Does the editor work on a phone too?
In principle yes, as long as the mobile browser supports WebCodecs - but the full-screen workspace is designed for a larger screen and is more comfortable to use on desktop.
Is there a watermark or an account?
No. No watermark, no account, no length limit other than your device memory.
Is it safe to edit a private video here?
Yes. Editing runs entirely locally, your video is not uploaded - test it in airplane mode, the editor keeps working.
