    Is my file uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser - your file never leaves your device. How this is verifiable

IMPORTANT - always verify the specs yourself: Indian government and exam portals require a photo within an exact KB size window (for example "20 to 50 KB" on many SSC-style forms), not just "as small as possible". These windows change between exam cycles and years. The values stored here are commonly-cited, widely-repeated reference figures - NOT a live-fetched, guaranteed-current spec from the portal itself. Check the current official notification before you upload the result.

Pick the portal or exam from the list; the tool automatically sets the matching pixel size and searches, via an interval search, for the JPG quality that lands the file inside the expected KB window (the same search "Compress images" and the passport-photo crop use, see their target-size mode). In the editor you drag and zoom the crop freely until head position and size fit - the aspect ratio always stays exactly locked. If the window genuinely cannot be hit, you get a clear error instead of an artificially padded or upscaled file.

Your photo never leaves your device in the process: the whole processing - cropping, background colour and the search for the matching file size - runs locally in the browser as WebAssembly-free JavaScript, with no upload, even usable offline. Biometric data such as a face photo counts among the most sensitive data there is - unlike server-side photo resizers, this tool never processes it outside your device.

    In 3 steps

    1. Drop your photo.
    2. Choose the portal/exam and background, then drag and zoom the crop.
    3. Download the finished photo - double-check the specs yourself once more before uploading.

Limitations: IMPORTANT: this is a pixel-size crop plus a KB-size search for common Indian government/exam portals - NOT a biometric or official check, and NOT a live-fetched, guaranteed-current portal spec. The stored KB windows and pixel dimensions are commonly-cited reference figures; individual portals (GATE, CTET and APPSC in particular) change their specs between exam cycles. Check your portal's current official notification before submitting the photo. The KB search only searches JPG quality at a fixed pixel size (no padding, no up- or downscaling) - if the minimum size cannot be reached even at best quality, the tool shows an honest error. The tool deliberately does not do real background removal.

    FAQ

Are these KB values official and guaranteed current?

No. They are commonly-cited, widely-used reference figures - not a spec fetched live from the authority. Always check your portal's current official notification before submitting.

    Is my photo uploaded?

No. Cropping and the size search run entirely locally in the browser - your photo (biometric data) never leaves your device.

What happens if the target size cannot be reached?

The tool shows a clear error instead of an artificially padded or wrong file - for example when even the best quality stays below the minimum.

    Does this meet biometric requirements?

No. It only brings the pixel size and KB size into the expected window. Head position, head size, expression and exposure are up to you - acceptance is up to the authority.

    Which portals are supported?

SSC, UPSC, NEET, JEE Main, GATE, IBPS, RRB, CUET, CTET, RBI, NDA/CDS, TNEA and APPSC - each with its own KB window and pixel size.

Can I adjust the crop manually?

Yes, in the editor you drag and zoom the crop freely before downloading - the aspect ratio always stays exactly locked.
