ISR (Impuesto Sobre la Renta) is Mexico's payroll income tax. For employees, the employer withholds it monthly under the progressive tariff of Article 96 LISR: up to a base amount only a low 1.92 percent applies, then the rate rises in steps up to a top rate of 35 percent for very high incomes. Each band has a fixed base amount (cuota fija) plus a percentage on the amount above it.

The calculation runs entirely locally in your browser, in pure JavaScript - nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored. From the monthly gross salary the calculator finds the matching tariff band, the ISR withheld, the resulting net salary and the effective rate. Change the salary and everything updates instantly.

An honest note: this is a model-based estimate of the monthly withholding tariff on a GIVEN gross salary, not tax advice. Not modelled are the Subsidio para el Empleo, IMSS/INFONAVIT deductions, the annual adjustment (ajuste anual/declaración anual) or other income. Under Article 152 LISR the tariff table is only updated once accumulated inflation exceeds 10 percent and otherwise stays in force for several years - check the SAT's current table before relying on this for a real payslip. Applies to Mexico only.

Limitations: A model-based estimate of the monthly ISR tariff (Article 96 LISR) on a GIVEN gross salary. Not modelled: Subsidio para el Empleo, IMSS/INFONAVIT deductions, the annual adjustment, other income. Under Article 152 LISR the table is only updated once accumulated inflation exceeds 10 percent; absent a newer official publication the last-known table is carried forward - check the current SAT table before a real payslip. Mexico only. Not tax advice.

FAQ

Are my inputs uploaded?

No. The calculation runs entirely locally in the browser (pure JavaScript); nothing is sent or stored.

What is ISR?

Impuesto Sobre la Renta - Mexico's income/payroll tax. For employees it is withheld monthly, under the progressive tariff of Article 96 LISR.

Is the Subsidio para el Empleo included?

No. This residual employment credit only affects very low incomes and is not computed here - your real deduction may therefore be slightly lower.

Is this the annual tax return?

No. The calculator only models the monthly payroll withholding, not the annual adjustment (declaración anual) with deductions and credits.

Why does my real payslip differ?

Because IMSS and INFONAVIT deductions, a possible Subsidio para el Empleo and other allowances also apply there, which this calculator deliberately does not model.
