A two-hour lecture recording that needs to be broken into chapters; a whole-album-side recording from which a single song must be cut out; or a long podcast that cannot be uploaded at once because of a size limit - this tool breaks an audio file into several smaller pieces, no editing software needed.

Three split modes are on offer: "Equal-size parts" spreads the total length evenly across a chosen number of pieces; "Fixed duration" cuts into equal-length chunks, with the last piece carrying the shorter remainder; "At silent gaps" automatically looks for pauses above the chosen minimum length (the same level analysis as the "Remove silence" tool) and cuts there - ideal for separating individual tracks out of one continuous recording.

Each piece is output as its own file; from two result files onward, the page automatically offers an "all as ZIP" download. Processing runs entirely locally in the browser - the recording is never uploaded.

    In 3 steps

    1. Drop your audio file.
    2. Choose the split mode (equal-size, fixed duration or silent gaps) and set the matching values.
    3. Download the parts individually or as a ZIP.

Limitations: The "at silent gaps" mode stops with a clear message when no suitable pause is found - an honest error beats a random cut. "Equal-size parts" allows 2 to 20 pieces. Honest per-device length cap (desktop about 20 minutes, tablet 15, phone 10). Compressed inputs need the browser WebCodecs decoder.

    FAQ

    Is my file uploaded?

No, everything runs locally in the browser.

Which split mode should I pick?

"Equal-size parts" for a quick split, "fixed duration" for equal-length segments, "at silent gaps" for recordings with recognizable pauses between tracks or chapters.

What happens if no silence is found?

The tool reports that honestly instead of cutting arbitrarily - try a higher sensitivity or a shorter minimum pause length.

How do I download all parts at once?

From two result files onward, an "all as ZIP" button appears automatically.
