A vlog, a tutorial video or a screen recording with long thinking pauses, flubs or dead airtime - this tool automatically detects silent passages in the audio track and cuts out the matching video sections, similar to a "jump cut" editor like Descript or Auto-Editor, just without an upload.

Important and honest: because a decision at one point can only be made after analysing the WHOLE audio track, the clip is fully decoded and held in memory first - so at most about 30 seconds of source material is supported. A slightly generous buffer at each cut edge ("kept silence") prevents speech from sounding chopped off. If the tool finds no qualifying silence, it honestly reports that instead of outputting an unchanged copy.

Everything runs locally in the browser with mediabunny (MPL-2.0, self-hosted, no third-party CDN) on the browser's native WebCodecs API. Your video is not uploaded.

    In 3 steps

    1. Drop your video file (MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM).
    2. Choose the sensitivity, minimum pause length and edge buffer.
    3. Download the cut video.

Limitations: Because fully decoding the clip needs real memory, only about 30 seconds of source material is supported - longer videos are honestly truncated to the opening section (visible in the filename). If the tool finds no qualifying silence, you get an honest error instead of an unchanged copy. One file per run, ~600 MB limit.

    FAQ

    Is my video uploaded?

No. Detection and cutting happen entirely locally in your browser.

How long can my video be?

About 30 seconds - the whole clip must be fully decoded before analysis.

What if no silence is found?

Then the tool honestly reports that as an error, instead of outputting an unchanged copy.

    Does the cut sound choppy?

A configurable buffer keeps a bit of silence at each cut edge, so speech does not sound chopped off.

    Is the audio kept?

Yes - unlike reversal or the boomerang effect, audio is the whole point of this tool and is fully preserved.
