QR codes are on posters, business cards, tickets and packaging - but what is actually inside? This tool reads a QR code from an image and shows you its content in plain text: a web address, some text, Wi-Fi credentials or contact details. That way you see where a code really leads before you follow it.

You simply pick an image of the code - a photo, a screenshot or a saved graphic. The detection runs entirely locally in your browser: the image is read, the QR code inside is located and decoded. Your image is not uploaded, not stored, and no foreign library is loaded from a CDN.

It detects common QR codes from popular image formats (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP), including a light code on a dark background. If no QR code is found in the image, the tool says so honestly instead of guessing a content. You can download the decoded text as a file or copy it straight out.

      In 3 steps

      1. Pick or drag in an image with the QR code.
      2. Click read - the detection runs locally.
      3. Read the decoded content or download it as a text file.

Limitations: It reads QR codes (not one-dimensional barcodes like EAN). The image should show the code clearly and sharply enough; very small, blurry or heavily covered codes may not be detected. One image is processed per run and the first code found is read.

      FAQ

      Is my image uploaded?

No. The detection runs entirely locally in your browser; the image never leaves your device and is not stored.

Which image formats can I use?

Common raster formats like PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF and BMP. A photo or screenshot of the code is usually enough.

Are barcodes like EAN read too?

No, this tool reads QR codes. One-dimensional barcodes like EAN or Code 128 are not supported.

What happens if no code is detected?

The tool honestly reports that no QR code was found instead of inventing a content. Try a sharper or larger image.
