A Brazilian CLT salary has two mandatory deductions: the INSS contribution (Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social, the statutory social-security scheme) and the IRRF wage tax (Imposto de Renda Retido na Fonte, income tax withheld at source). Both are calculated progressively from bracket tables - the higher the salary, the higher the rate on the portion above each threshold.

The calculation runs entirely locally in your browser, in pure JavaScript - nothing is uploaded or stored. The INSS contribution is calculated across the four contribution bands up to the contribution ceiling (teto); the IRRF taxable base additionally subtracts a fixed allowance per dependent and any optional further deductions (such as alimony or private pension contributions) before the wage-tax table is applied. The separately shown FGTS amount is not a deduction from your pay - it is a deposit the employer makes into your FGTS account.

An honest note: this is a model-based estimate, not an official pay stub. The 2026 IRRF relief (Lei nº 15.270/2025, exemption up to R$5,000 with a redutor deduction up to R$7,350) is calculated using the real statutory formula, not an approximation. It does not include the 13th salary or vacation pay - those have their own dedicated calculators. Union dues, health-plan deductions and the simplified standard-deduction alternative (desconto simplificado) are not included.

In 3 steps

  1. Enter your gross salary.
  2. Adjust the number of dependents and other deductions.
  3. Read off INSS, IRRF, net salary and the FGTS deposit.

Limitations: A model-based estimate, not an official pay stub. The 2026 IRRF relief follows the real formula from Lei nº 15.270/2025 (a redutor deduction on gross salary between R$5,000 and R$7,350). The 13th salary and vacation pay are not included - dedicated calculators exist for those. Union dues, health-plan deductions and the simplified standard-deduction alternative (desconto simplificado) are missing - check the current INSS/IRRF tables yourself.

FAQ

Does my salary leave my device?

No, the entire calculation runs locally in your browser - nothing is uploaded or stored.

What is the difference between INSS and IRRF?

INSS is the social-security contribution (pension, sick pay), IRRF is the income tax withheld at source. Both are calculated separately and progressively.

Is the FGTS amount deducted from my salary?

No, FGTS is an additional deposit the employer makes into your own FGTS account - it does not reduce your net pay.

What does entering dependents do?

Each dependent lowers the IRRF taxable base by a fixed statutory allowance, reducing the wage tax due.

Does the calculator account for the 2026 tax relief?

Yes, using the real formula from Lei nº 15.270/2025: a fixed redutor deduction from gross salary between R$5,000 and R$7,350, no longer an approximation.
