A chat export is one of the most personal files a person can have - and at the same time the clearest possible proof of this site's no-upload promise. Export your chat via WhatsApp's own feature (Chat settings > Export chat > Without media), drop the resulting .txt file here, and the entire analysis happens locally in your browser: messages per participant, the busiest hour and weekday, the most frequent words, how many messages were media, and which emoji appeared most often.
WhatsApp exports in two slightly different shapes depending on the device: Android separates the timestamp and message with a dash, no seconds ("14/03/24, 9:15 AM - Anna: Hi there"); iOS puts the timestamp in square brackets, with seconds ("[14/03/2024, 09:15:32] Anna: Hi there"). This tool auto-detects both formats, along with the date order that varies by the exporting device's locale (day-first almost everywhere, month-first on US devices) and the 12-hour or 24-hour clock. System and join/leave notifications (e.g. "X joined the group") are told apart from real messages reliably - purely by SHAPE (no "Name: " prefix), never by matching specific wording, which would vary by device locale anyway.

Limitations: The analysis auto-detects both the iOS and Android export formats and both day-first and month-first date orders; in rare, very unusual exports a single date may not be recognized - such messages are still counted (participants, words, media, emoji) but honestly excluded from the hour/weekday breakdown. The word list is unfiltered (no stopword removal for common filler words). Only the text export without media is supported - media files themselves are not analyzed, only recognized and counted as a "media" placeholder.
