DSD (Direct Stream Digital) is a fundamentally different recording principle than familiar PCM: instead of multi-level samples, it uses an extremely high-clocked 1-bit stream. It became known through the Super Audio CD (SACD) and is offered today by hi-res download stores as a DSF file - hardly any ordinary player or streaming service can play DSD directly.
This tool uses ffmpeg's native DSD decoder to convert the 1-bit stream into ordinary multi-bit PCM, and packs the result losslessly as FLAC - a format practically every current hi-fi player, NAS or music server plays.
Only the plain .dsf file format (DSD Stream File, the most common format for DSD downloads) is supported - the rarer .dff container format (DSDIFF/Philips) is not, since the decoder shipped in the browser has no demuxer for it. The conversion itself runs entirely locally, with no upload of your sometimes very large hi-res files.

Limitations: Only the .dsf file format is supported, not the rarer .dff (DSDIFF) container format. Converting 1-bit DSD to multi-bit PCM/FLAC is a real, hi-fi-world-established conversion, but there is no way back to DSD here (no DSD encoder). Very large hi-res files need time and memory in the browser.
