From Turkish gross pay, the employer first deducts the 15 percent SGK employee share (9 percent pension/disability, 5 percent general health insurance, 1 percent unemployment insurance) - calculated on a base clamped between the monthly floor and ceiling (2026: 33,030 to 297,270 lira). Income tax (Gelir Vergisi) then applies to what remains, at the selected cumulative bracket rate - from 15 percent up to 40 percent.

An important Turkish quirk: the portion of every wage equal to the legal minimum wage is exempt from income tax and stamp tax (Damga Vergisi, 0.759 per mille) - the "asgari ücret istisnası" - which keeps the 2026 net minimum wage at exactly 28,075.50 lira. This calculator applies the same exemption to any higher salary before computing income tax and stamp tax. Everything runs locally in your browser as plain JavaScript.

An honest note: because Turkish income tax works on the cumulative annual tax base, this calculator asks for the current bracket as an input rather than reconstructing the whole year - a realistic monthly estimate at a constant salary, not tax advice. Not modelled are bonuses/one-off payments, private supplementary insurance, and the 5-point SGK contribution discount some employers qualify for.

In 3 steps

  1. Enter the gross salary in lira.
  2. Choose your current cumulative tax bracket.
  3. Read off net pay, SGK, income tax, stamp tax and employer cost.

Limitations: A model-based monthly estimate (2026 SGK rates and income-tax tariff, minimum-wage exemption). The bracket is requested as an input rather than reconstructed cumulatively across the year - realistic at a constant salary. Not modelled: bonuses, private supplementary insurance, the 5-point SGK discount. Turkey only. Not tax advice.

FAQ

Are my inputs uploaded?

No. The calculation runs entirely locally in the browser; nothing is sent or stored.

What is the minimum-wage exemption (asgari ücret istisnası)?

The portion of every wage equal to the gross minimum wage stays free of income tax and stamp tax - which is why net minimum wage is exactly gross minus SGK.

Why do I have to pick my own tax bracket?

Turkish income tax is cumulative across the calendar year. Without your prior months' pay, the calculator cannot derive the bracket itself - at a constant salary it usually stays stable for months at a time.

What are the SGK floor and ceiling?

In 2026 the contribution base runs from 33,030 to 297,270 lira per month - salaries above that pay SGK only up to the ceiling.
