PDF invoices, bank statements, reports and price lists usually keep the actual numbers inside a table - and that table is what you want in Excel, not the whole page. This tool detects tables in the PDF automatically (bordered or borderless) and exports them straight into an Excel workbook (XLSX), ready to calculate, filter and sort.
Every page where at least one table is found gets its own worksheet; if a page holds several tables, they are stacked on it with a blank row in between. That keeps the original document order intact without generating empty sheets for pure text pages. Dot-decimal numbers are carried over as real number cells, so sums and formulas work in Excel right away.
Honest and important: this tool specialises in tables, not arbitrary PDF content - running prose without a recognisable table structure does not end up in the Excel file. Only values and number formats are carried over from the PDF, never colours, fonts or cell borders (a plain formatting limit of the underlying library). Make a scanned PDF with no text layer searchable with "PDF OCR" first. Everything runs locally in your browser; your file never leaves your device.
Limitations: Detects only genuine tables (bordered or borderless) and exports them as an Excel workbook - one sheet per page with table(s). Plain prose without table structure is never carried over. Only values and number formats are transferred from the PDF, never colours, fonts or borders. Requires a real text layer - convert scanned PDFs with "PDF OCR" first. Open password-protected PDFs with "Unlock PDF" first.
FAQ
Does this work with any PDF?
No. It targets PDFs that actually contain tables - invoices, statements, reports, price lists. Plain prose without a recognisable table structure is not carried into the Excel file.
How is the Excel file structured?
Every page with at least one detected table gets its own worksheet ("Page1", "Page2", ...). Several tables on the same page are stacked, separated by a blank row.
Is formatting or colour preserved?
No. Values and number formats are carried over; colours, fonts and cell borders from the PDF are lost on export - a known limit of the Excel library used.
Why is my worksheet empty or missing entirely?
The page probably has no recognisable table (only prose) or is part of a scan with no text layer - convert scans with "PDF OCR" first.
Is the PDF uploaded?
No. Detection and export run entirely locally in your browser; your file never leaves your device.
