    Is my file uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser - your file never leaves your device. How this is verifiable

A phone video often carries more than what is visible in the picture: the exact GPS location of the recording, the precise device model, the recording app and sometimes an author or comment field. Before a private video or a company recording is shared onward, it is worth a look at these invisible fields - this tool removes them with one click while the picture and sound stay untouched.

Technically, this deliberately involves NO re-encoding: ffmpeg copies both the picture AND the sound track bit-for-bit unchanged into a new container (including any existing subtitle track) and only deletes the container and chapter metadata. That is not only markedly faster than re-encoding, it also guarantees the picture and sound themselves do not change - no second lossy pass.

The process runs entirely locally in the browser via ffmpeg.wasm - your video is not uploaded. The result keeps exactly the source format.

    FAQ

    Is my file uploaded?

No, everything runs locally in the browser.

Does the picture or sound change?

No. Both tracks are copied unchanged (stream copy), only the metadata disappears.

Does the GPS location disappear too?

Yes, an embedded recording location counts as metadata and is removed as well.

Why is this faster than a conversion?

Because there is no re-encoding - only the metadata is removed, picture and sound are only copied, not recalculated.
