No. Everything runs in your browser - your file never leaves your device. How this is verifiable
WMA (Windows Media Audio) was Microsoft's own audio codec from the late 1990s, deeply embedded in Windows Media Player and once the default format of many CD rips and old Zune/MP3 player libraries. On an iPhone, most car radios and modern streaming devices, though, WMA usually does not play - MP3, by contrast, plays practically everywhere.
The tool demuxes the ASF container (the wrapper format behind .wma) and decodes the contained wmav1/wmav2 samples natively with ffmpeg, before re-encoding them with libmp3lame to MP3 at the chosen bitrate. That makes an old music collection, once trapped in Windows, playable everywhere again.
Older WMA rips are often at a moderate bitrate (64-192 kbps) - an MP3 bitrate at least at that level keeps the additional loss small. Everything happens locally in the browser, with your music collection never uploaded.

Limitations: DRM-protected WMA files (common with old subscription downloads) cannot be opened without the matching key. Both formats are lossy - a second round of compression costs additional detail. One file per run.
No, the conversion runs entirely locally in the browser.
It was tightly bound to Windows Media Player and older Microsoft DRM services, while MP3 is vendor-neutral and now patent-free.
No, DRM-protected files cannot be decoded without the associated license key.
Usually not - the iPhone and most standard Android players do not natively support WMA, but MP3 almost always.
