Contracts, scripts and bulk scans look tidier and are easier to cite when every page carries a number. This tool stamps consecutive page numbers onto your PDF - at the chosen corner and in the format you want.

Pick the position (top/bottom, left/center/right), the start value (e.g. 1, or an offset if a cover page should not count) and the format: number only, "1 / N" with total, with dashes, or with the word "Page" (with or without total). The preview shows the real page with the number exactly at the chosen corner, live on every change - no guessing from a dropdown label.

Continuous page numbers are mandatory in many contexts: court briefs, proposals or academic papers require a clear reference like “see page 12”. If you merged several sources beforehand, a uniform count is missing - this tool lays one over the whole document afterwards. With the start value you exclude a cover page from the count by starting at “1” only from the second page.

Font (Helvetica, Times or Courier), color and the margin to the page edge are also adjustable - so the numbering visually matches the rest of the document instead of always looking the same.

    In 3 steps

    1. Drop a PDF.
    2. Pick position, format, start value, size, font, color and margin, and check the live page preview.
    3. Download the numbered PDF.

Limitations: Page numbers in one of three standard Latin fonts (Helvetica, Times, Courier); the handwriting font from the PDF editor is deliberately not offered here, since every page number is generated individually at export time and cannot be pre-rendered to an image like a single text element. The "Page 1" and "Page 1 of N" formats stamp the English word "Page" regardless of the tool's language. A fixed margin position per corner (with an adjustable margin distance); no free-floating text - but the live preview shows the real result beforehand. FAQ

    Is the PDF uploaded?

No, numbering happens entirely locally in the browser.

Can I see the result beforehand?

Yes, the preview shows your real page with the page number live as you change position and format.

Can I start at a different number?

Yes, via the start value - useful if a cover page should not count.

Is there "page 1 of N"?

The "1 / N" format shows number and total without a word; "Page 1 of N" additionally shows the word "Page".

    Can I add a watermark?

Yes, use the "Watermark PDF" tool.

Can I change the font and color?

Yes, choose between Helvetica, Times and Courier and a free color; the margin to the page edge is also adjustable.
